ADULT LESSONS
At LGS we teach surfers of all levels, even those afraid of the smallest of waves. From group to private classes, we’ll help you meet your goals, whether you want to simply stand up, hang 10 or imitate your favourite pro surfer.
GROUP CLASSES
Our group classes aren’t just a great way to learn to surf, they’re also a fantastic place to meet new people who share your sense of adventure and new passion for surfing. All of our classes are run by our male and female coaches –- fully accredited by Surfing Australia and Surf Life Saving Australia -— who will help you learn quickly, while making sure you are as safe and comfortable in the water as possible.
“Thankfully, the kids and adults are in separate classes; fears of being the klutzy grown-up in a pod of loose-limbed grommets were unfounded” – Keith Austin, Sydney Morning Herald

The Bondi Surf Experience – Taste Test
This popular beginner course teaches you how to safely get out and up onto your first wave. Here you’ll be taught in a small group setting of 6 students or less, so you get plenty of hands-on help. To build up your knowledge and confidence, we first start you out on the beach and teach you how to recognize surf conditions and practice your surfing technique before you get into the water. Then it’s off into the ocean, where you start off in broken waves – the white foam created after the waves run their course. You’ll be amazed at how easy, safe and enjoyable it can be to learn to surf.

Surf Easy Course - Getting Started recommended
There’s no better way to get started than with three progressive lessons to teach you how to surf and then improve and refine your technique. Our program works so well that we even guarantee that we’ll have you standing after three lessons – or else we give you free additional lessons until you do. This certificate program is done at your own schedule, so you can surf three days in a row, or spread them out over weeks or even months – it’s up to you. Your first lesson will teach all of the basic surfing fundamentals, just as we do in our Bondi Surf Experience, while with the successive two lessons you spend more time in the water improving and expanding your abilities. If you’re looking to build up your confidence in the surf and get up on your feet in no time, this is the way to go.

Let the guys hang out on the beach. This time, girls rule the surf! |
|
|
Bondi Surfer Girl – Girls Only
Women’s surfing is growing at an amazing rate, so why don’t you join the surfing sorority and show girls can be just as good at ripping it up in the waves as the guys. Besides, have you seen the guy/girl ratio out there? Yes, the odds are definitely in your favour. In our small group lessons of 6 or fewer students, we teach you all you need to know to get up on a board and ride your first wave. Our girls-only program is the brainchild of Lets Go Surfing co-founder Brenda Miley, a former national surfing title competitor and one of the founders of the Bondi Girls Surfiders Club. Brenda’s been surfing since age three, so if there’s anyone who understands women’s surfing, it’s her.

Afraid of being in the sea or the smallest of waves? We’re here to help |
|
|
Surf Harmony – Surf Safety & Awareness
If you’re afraid of stepping into the surf, you’re not alone. There are thousands of people out there just like you, many of whom have had a traumatic childhood – or even adult – experience that has made them fearful of the water. The good news is that through our Surf Harmony class, we’ve successfully helped lots surf-phobic people not only overcome their fears, but become one with the ocean and truly enjoy the beauty of the surf. And rest assured, safety is our number one priority for our Surf Harmony students, so you’ll be in good hands.
How does it work? Well, we first help you love the sea before you even set foot in the water. Just knowing about how the surf works will help boost your confidence, so we spend a good deal of time on the beach, talking about your fears and explaining how things like riptides, sandbars and waves develop. Then we’ll talk about and show you how to cope in the waves, how to stay safe and how to thrive in the ocean. Then comes the fun part, where our caring and qualified professional instructors take you into the water and show you how to swim care-free in the waves. We’ll even show you how to bodysurf (as in no intimidating boards, just people-power). Surf Harmony graduates looking to improve further can then move up to our bodyboarding class or can even give surfing a go. Really!
So if you’ve ever wanted to enjoy the ocean and appreciate the beautiful coasts that Australia offers, here’s your chance. Not only can you get over your fears, but the experience will change your life forever.
